Baby Layne ~ phoenix baby photographer
Posted on September 24, 2009
I will let the images speak for themselves…. This family is, in the words of Zoolander, “ridiculously good looking.” And they are as pretty on the inside as they are on the outside! Enjoy the eye candy!!

the Woods family ~ phoenix, arizona
Posted on September 14, 2009
Got a chance to swing by and do a “drive by shooting” of the Woods family this weekend (basically just drove up, hopped out and shot the fam and then took off - all legit of course :). Steve and Teresa are part of our Sunday School class at church and Ashley is becoming a favorite babysitter for my girls. All in all a much loved family of many many people around these parts.

the Allison family ~ smokin’ hot in phoenix
Posted on August 12, 2009
And I am not referring to the weather! What a fun family! When Chip and Kay said they wanted to shoot downtown in a more urban setting, I was so excited I could hardly contain myself. Hey, it takes a shoot like this to get me out of bed before 6am!!! We had to shoot early to beat the heat and the crowds (and apparently also the parking fees :).
And come on people, who can’t get enough of adorable little (just-turned-one) Finn’s KILLER eyes and even more killer expressions. He was working it… making mom and dad very proud. And then there was Kay and baby-boy-belly-bump…. wowza! I love Chip and Kay’s style, look and the way they were so comfortable in front of the camera (a photographer’s dream). I commented that they really had a great serious look…. to which they both started laughing hysterically. Love that!!
Guys, it was a blast working together this morning! Can’t wait to meet baby boy someday and work it some more! My camera seems to love you guys!

the Liveretts + Sedona = mmmm, mmmm good.
Posted on May 21, 2009
These are some of our dear family friends. We love them and miss them and covet their place in Pagosa Springs, CO. Its true. If you are looking to locate yourself to Paradise (i.e. Pagosa Springs), Chris is your man. He can hook you up in a big fat way there. We always seem to hook up on the tail end of vacations and such, and it was no different this time. We flew in from a long weekend in Arkansas (shooting and being in a wedding there…. post to come this week!) on Monday and Chris and Rach and the kids headed over our way for a day and a half. We decided, last minute, to do some Liverett family pics on Tuesday morning. The heat, bright sun and lack of creative options for picture locations at 9am presented us with a fun alternative - drive to Sedona to look for some shade and have some fun. And it was fun! After completely wearing the kids out, dunking one of mine in the river to rid her of her “chocolate” coating (i.e. completely covered in dirt from her older sister), getting homemade ice cream and then promptly having multiple break downs, we headed back to our respective homes - them to paradise, and us to hell Phoenix.
And here are just a “few” of my faves…. I know, I need to redefine the word few, don’t I.
And just because every shoot has “a story,” I have to leave you with this one:
My girls were with me on this shoot… Adelaide and Sierra are friends and of course wanted to play once these dang pictures were done. So my girls were “supposed” to be strapped in the double jogging stroller so I could shoot in “peace.” Well, Adelaide apparently got out and proceeded to cover and I mean COVER her little sister in dirt… you know the red DIRTY kind you find in Sedona. And apparently Sydney didn’t mind so much since there wasn’t any screaming involved. I didn’t even notice this until Cedar, the two year old, said something about Sydney being “chocolate.” And she did indeeded look chocolate covered. Thankfully we were right on a river and could dunk her in and clean her up a bit before the long drive home.

Rick & Kim ~ the lovely couple (part 1 of 2)
Posted on April 28, 2009
Again, you guys were just awesome. Kim, I am so thankful for your dad’s recommendation… this has definitely broadened my shooting locations horizons! All the best to you guys!!
We shot most of these at the amazing ASU campus in Tempe. I think I could have shot there for consecutive days and not hit up all the nooks and crannies I saw all over the campus. What a gold mine for a photographer that enjoys angles, shadows, lines and patterns.

Owen is ONE!
Posted on April 22, 2009
What a cutie! I photographed Owen and his family when he was about 4 months old last year… and wow, he has really grown up these last several months. We had fun just chillin’ in his environment… outside in the yard, in his playroom, on mom and dad’s bed and so on. It is so fun for me to photograph little kiddos like this in THEIR most comfortable environment. I think it makes for the best, most realistic photographs. I appreciated Owen’s parents’ perspective - they really wanted to just capture Owen in his “one-ness.” They wanted to get shots of the things that they want to see and remember 10 and 20 years down the road…. the toys he likes, books he loves, the things he loves to do most (play on mom and dad’s bed, play in his crib etc). Instead of dressing him up and decking him out in unfamiliar clothes and props, they wanted REAL pictures of their son. I loved that and appreciated their forethought into the future! These “one-ness” moments will be gone in a flash. I hope these pictures bring them great joy and maybe even some happy tears in the years to come as they remember these days.

Kyndle & Drew - WOWZA
Posted on March 16, 2009
Please meet our good friends, Kyndle and Drew. We share the exact same wedding anniversary (day and year). We are in a Sunday School class together at our church. And our kids are friends. I had SO much fun with this couple as they hammed it up in front of the camera and pretty much just let me push and pose and poke and move them however which way I wanted. Those are the best kind of clients, you know.
Would you believe these two have two little ones of their own and have a third on the way? Drew and Kyndle, you guys were so much fun to work with and photograph and holy cow… you are just way too easy on the eyes. I had no intention of editing these tonight, but I couldn’t stop looking at these and processing them so I could see the final product of each shot. If you like them even a fraction of how much I am in love with them, then I will be happy.
Blessings to you guys! See you in a couple of days.

Hello Aubrey….
Posted on February 24, 2009
Seriously? I mean seriously? How is it possible for a less than 6 week old baby to look THIS jaw-dropping gorgeous. I can’t get enough of these pictures. I mean it. Aubrey was a complete joy to work with (as if she had a choice in the matter, though). I have seen in two successive newborn sessions that the sound of my camera shutter is extremely fascinating to these little ones. I was nearly propositioned by one set of parents to come and “shoot” again, say at around 3am??
Julie and Eric, you guys have a heart breaker on your hands… I wish you blessings and the best for the years to come with this little princess.
