Megan & Jamie ~ ENGAGED!
Posted on February 16, 2010
I met up with Megan and Jamie E A R L Y sunday morning at the Tempe Center for the Arts. It was my first time to shoot there and it was just awesome… What is even more awesome is that it is the location of Megan and Jamie’s wedding reception in June. Oh yeah baby. Loving it! You know, some people just work so well in front of the camera. Not that they are “working it,” but more that the camera just seems to love them and they are natural and comfortable in front of it. That was the case with my 5D and Megan and Jamie. The session was short and sweet, super easy. I think the pictures speak for themselves here, and i couldn’t be happier to work with this couple in the months to come!

Jennifer & Christopher ~ Engaged!
Posted on January 18, 2010
Or rather, as they refer to themselves… Jenny and Topher. These guys have SO MUCH FUN together! It was really awesome to watch a couple that is obviously crazy in love with each other laugh so much together… I found myself smiling behind the camera as well as in front of my computer as I processed these. What a great building block for the marriage they are preparing for. Jenny and Topher, your pics are so FUN and real… I hope your wedding day is half as fun and memorable as this session was. I tell every client that the BEST images are always, 100%, hands down, you being uniquely YOU and this particular session is a perfect case in point… you guys danced together, sang together, jumped and ran together, kissed, hugged, and even smiled with your eyes (top model style, oh yeah!). Love it!
I tried to narrow down my favorites, and actually I did leave out a few faves because I think Jenny and Topher have some special plans up their sleeves for these images and I don’t want to spoil the fun.
Blessings to you guys these next couple of months of wedding planning! Have FUN!

Mario & Lacey ~ Phoenix Portrait Photography
Posted on October 18, 2009
Lacey and I met up at a local coffee shop a few weeks ago to talk about her wedding plans and such. We connected instantly (she is in the same industry as my husband and even knew several of his coworkers). We talked and laughed and planned out things in our minds for a lakeside wedding in Wisconsin in July….
…. and since then, things have changed, life has changed… for the better, in my humble opinion.
So now the wedding date in 3 weeks away, at a picturesque chapel in Sedona, and engagement photos were this beautiful morning. Some people would be absolutely freaking out by the amount of change that has come their way the last month or so… but Mario and Lacey are about the most laid back, easy going couple I have ever met. I knew we were totally going to jive on a photography level when Lacey told me hers and Mario’s love story and how they wanted to hit up all the significant places for their engagement shoot… including the Bally’s Total Fitness that they met at. I love it when clients place such a sentimental value on significant places that are a part of their love journey. And I especially love it when they want to shoot their engagement pictures there for sentimental reasons. Perfect!
After shooting at several locations, we finished up by chatting for half an hour over a cup of coffee (thanks Mario!!) and just had the best time. It is such an awesome perk of having the job that I happen to have to be able to connect with such awesome people like Mario and Lacey.
Lacey and Mario, I can’t wait for your wedding!! It is going to be so fun, so amazingly special and memorable. I am so thrilled to be able to document such a day in your life. And I am looking forward to hooking up for breakfast with the rest of my family and chilling outside of a photo shoot!

Bethany & Greg ~ part 2 of 2
Posted on June 28, 2009
Apparently I have issues with the term “favorite.” I tried and tried to narrow this post down to my absolute faves. And this is just what will have to do. Really, how can you go wrong with such a beautiful bride-to-be, super happy groom-to-be, incredible light, amazing “props” (such as antique doors, benches, etc.)?? And can you believe it was like 108 out there - and look how good and laid back this couple looks. Me on the other hand? I was sweating like a pig and looked just as bad as that sounds. You are welcome for that lovely mental picture.
Bethany and Greg, I wish you guys the best… I hope you will post pictures of your upcoming wedding out east sometime, because I would loooove to see them. I can only imagine how stunning and beautiful Bethany will look, and sorry Greg, but she’s just going to steal the show. The sooner you accept that, the better off it will be.
I really want to see some pictures of the milk and cookies, too! Blessings to you both as you embark on this next phase of your journey together.
this one is really one of my favorite faves…. isn’t she beautiful… and the water droplets from the fountain. love it.

Bethany & Greg ~ Engaged!
Posted on June 28, 2009
I had the honor of working with Bethany and Greg to capture their engagement photos today. First of all, I just have to say that Bethany rocked the outfit selection like none other! Check out her shoes, yo!! I happened to mention to her that pops of color via jewelry, shoes, layers, whatever always turn out well. And when I saw her shoes, I about died. Love them. And love the fact that she could actually wear them with grace and style. You just would never want to see me even try that… it would be painful - for you and me both. Secondly, Bethany’s mom suggested taking the pictures at the absolutely amazing Hermosa Inn in Scottsdale. Wow. Wow. Wow. It was/is one of the most fun photo locations to date. I kept feeling like we were in some obscure alley or nook in Italy or Spain. What a fantastic vibe for a shoot! It even made up for the fact that it was a sweltering 108 as we started shooting. Note to self: bring water on the next Phoenix summer shoot to avoid dying.
And I think they are doing one of the most fun and playful and memorable things at their reception in August in the Hamptons…. in addition to a candy bar, they are bringing out plates of milk and cookies for dessert. Does it get any more original than that??!
So without further adieu…. here is Sneak Peak 1 of 2:
the shoes! fun fun!
the doors at this place were just to die for…. i fell in love instantly.
playing with some sun flare!
laughter makes for some of the greatest pictures ever.
towards the end of the shoot, i was about ready to “accidently” fall into this fountain.
last but not least… this just struck me as funny. i felt like my little toyota corolla was the country hick, and all the other cars were the high class city folk who obviously are privy to information like which direction to park in the parking lot. my little corolla was quite embarrassed.

Rick & Kim ~ the lovely couple (part 1 of 2)
Posted on April 28, 2009
Again, you guys were just awesome. Kim, I am so thankful for your dad’s recommendation… this has definitely broadened my shooting locations horizons! All the best to you guys!!
We shot most of these at the amazing ASU campus in Tempe. I think I could have shot there for consecutive days and not hit up all the nooks and crannies I saw all over the campus. What a gold mine for a photographer that enjoys angles, shadows, lines and patterns.

E-Session in Paris
Posted on May 28, 2007
I met a wonderful couple in Paris this weekend to do their engagement session. One word comes to mind when I think of Delissa and Travis - FUN! They are so much in love and obviously have so much fun together. It was such a pleasure to meet them and become friends in the course of a few hours and many miles of walking together all over the city.
Paris, like Berlin, has no shortage of gorgeous photo backdrops…. the problem is that it would take days and days to find our way to all these amazing nooks and crannies, and possibly a few sets of feet to get you there.
The weather forecast was rain, rain, oh and a few thunderstorms, but as you can see, the weather held out for us (Thanks, God!), albeit a bit hazy and cloudy.
Here are the photos! Slideshow to come soon with many more photos!!

Didn’t I say they were fun?!

And last but definitely not least…. some “fine art” creations. Delissa really wanted some vintage/romantic style photos. As I began to play with some textures and effects, I started to see those old Parisian postcards, or newspapers in my mind… faded, grainy, antique. I hope that some of these evoke that old-time romantic feeling one conjurs up when you think about love and romance in Paris.

E-Session in Beautiful Berlin
Posted on April 5, 2007
What a great way to plan for your engagement session - on vacation in Europe! Audra and Cameron were here visiting mutual friends this week and we just happened to pick THE nicest day of the year thus far to jet around Berlin and do their e-session. And I do mean jet. We walked ourselves to death. But it was worth it…. the diversity of the places and lighting was perfect. Here are a “couple” of my favorites…. I am also in the process of designing their wedding guest sign-in book using their engagement photos. Check back soon for a sneak peek!
Lots more on the SLIDESHOW!
