my precious girls….
Posted on October 30, 2009
I realize I don’t post personal stuff very much on this blog…. but I am feeling quite nostalgic tonight and wanted to post up some recent shots of my little treasures. and they are just that…. a treasure of treasures. I grow more in love with them every single day and every single day I don’t know how it is possible to love them any more than I do that day.
Addie is growing up at lightning speed. I know everyone says that, but it is so true! Her smile, hugs, tenderness melts me to this day. On “picture day” at her school, she picked out her whole outfit and even wanted me to braid her hair. She looked so stinking cute… I had to get my own pics of her.
and then there was dress up one afternoon…. Sydy is just now getting into it, much to Addie’s delight. These were taken with my point and shoot:
this is their “anne of green gables” dress because of the puffed sleeves….

Mario & Lacey ~ Phoenix Portrait Photography
Posted on October 18, 2009
Lacey and I met up at a local coffee shop a few weeks ago to talk about her wedding plans and such. We connected instantly (she is in the same industry as my husband and even knew several of his coworkers). We talked and laughed and planned out things in our minds for a lakeside wedding in Wisconsin in July….
…. and since then, things have changed, life has changed… for the better, in my humble opinion.
So now the wedding date in 3 weeks away, at a picturesque chapel in Sedona, and engagement photos were this beautiful morning. Some people would be absolutely freaking out by the amount of change that has come their way the last month or so… but Mario and Lacey are about the most laid back, easy going couple I have ever met. I knew we were totally going to jive on a photography level when Lacey told me hers and Mario’s love story and how they wanted to hit up all the significant places for their engagement shoot… including the Bally’s Total Fitness that they met at. I love it when clients place such a sentimental value on significant places that are a part of their love journey. And I especially love it when they want to shoot their engagement pictures there for sentimental reasons. Perfect!
After shooting at several locations, we finished up by chatting for half an hour over a cup of coffee (thanks Mario!!) and just had the best time. It is such an awesome perk of having the job that I happen to have to be able to connect with such awesome people like Mario and Lacey.
Lacey and Mario, I can’t wait for your wedding!! It is going to be so fun, so amazingly special and memorable. I am so thrilled to be able to document such a day in your life. And I am looking forward to hooking up for breakfast with the rest of my family and chilling outside of a photo shoot!

Amanda & Jerrod ~ Texas Wedding Photography
Posted on October 14, 2009
I returned to the homeland two weekends ago to photograph this lovely couple’s wedding. And when I say “lovely,” i mean L O V E L Y inside and out! It was such a treat to get to know them through the testimonies of others, through their wedding vows, through their interaction with their friends and especially family. Because I am out of state, I didn’t get to meet them until the night before their wedding. And now I really wish we could just hang out and be friends! Hear that Amanda and Jerrod??!! Want to come hang out in Phoenix sometime? I can make pizza for you (next to Jesus and Jerrod, Amanda loves her pizza), and we can talk Africa, missions and basketball!
I also learned that they both have a very strong character…. which was evidenced by their acceptance and contentment when their hopes of a sunny outdoor wedding were dashed with torrential rain. Some people would have fallen apart at the seams…. but these two made the most of it and held on to the very important fact that rain or shine they were GETTIN’ HITCHED!
The wedding and reception was held at the beautiful Gardens of Cranesbury View in New Braunfels, Texas. Amy, owner and coordinator, directed everything as well as created the amazing floral arrangements and bouquets.
Because of the unrelenting rain, everything was moved into the reception hall/ballroom. Â Thankfully, the rain let up enough to snag some outdoor shots.
And last but definitely not least, the incredibly talented Ashley Canfield second shot with me and many of the following images are from her… she did a stellar job on details especially. Â Thanks again, Ashley! It is always great to shoot with you!
imagine arriving to your wedding in THIS kind of rain??!!
and she has a smile on her face!!!!
Ashley got this next AWESOME shot!
look at the rain behind the flowers! yikes!
i love the emotion in this next image…. waiting… ready….
this almost makes me cry looking at it…. look at the tear stained cheeks… and the expression of PURE JOY!!! its just beautiful!
the mr. and mrs….
sassy! i like it!!
