Stephanie & Jon - sneaky peaky…

Posted on August 22, 2009

Just had to post a sneak peak of Stephanie and Jon’s awesome wedding in Houston. The venue, Agave Road, was just a phenomenal site. Stephanie looked so incredibly stunning. Jon was about the happiest groom I think I have EVER seen. The reception dancing was hopping - you know its good when Grandma and Grandpa are freestyling on the dance floor! That means there are some serious dancing genetics on that floor!! (those pics to come soon)  So many more than this to share (and I haven’t even made it through all the processing yet), but wanted to give Steph and Jon a little something something to hold them over. :)

EDIT: I can’t believe I forgot to mention the incredibly talented  Ashley Canfield, who second shot with me. Thats what I get for posting at 1am in the morning. Ashley and I have been friends since high school and have since lived in completely different states and even countries. She has a fantastic photography business in Houston. Check her out! Thanks, Ash, for being my wingman woman at the wedding. You were a huge help! Looking forward to October!!

Congratulations Steph and Jon! It was just a pleasure to be a part of this incredible day… I hope you can relive the moments over and over again through these images! (and of course lots more to come…)

I am being featured on the awesome blog called The Bokah Pot… a blog “created to serve as a directory and event resource for the up-and-coming photographers of the wedding and portrait industry” by the talented Crystal Genes. I have LOVED following thebokahpot and have learned of several photogs in my own metro area, some of which are already becoming fast friends (yup, thats you Breanna and Scott!). I love reading about how people came into this business, what inspires them and so on. I am so excited to join the ranks now! Check it out HERE!!

Maddie ~ senior ‘10

Posted on August 17, 2009

I have had the joy of working with the McCaleb family a couple of times now, and I had the absolute pleasure of photographing this beautiful girl this past weekend. Maddie is starting her senior year in high school. And I am absolutely not joking when I tell you that her beauty really radiates from the inside out. I love love love her look….. natural, real, simple, authentic, and of course, drop dead gorgeous. We were talking about what to wear to the shoot and I mentioned fun jewelry and accessories… Maddie laughed and said, “Well, I don’t really wear jewelry. Everyone kinda gives me a hard time about it…” And I laughed too and told her, “Then please don’t start wearing them now!” My goal is to capture the true essence of my clients… not the essence of _______ (fill in the blank) that they saw in a recent celeb magazine. And Maddie obviously needs no embellishing by jewelry to make a statement, that is for sure! She is hoping to head to the east coast for college next year and I wish her the VERY best in that endeavor!!

Maddie - these are just breathtaking pictures! And you are such a sweet, authentic (and believe me that is one of the highest compliments to give in my book), beautiful person. I loved your shoot and thanks for putting up with all of my crazy backdrop ideas. :) I think they paid off. Enjoy!!

the Allison family ~ smokin’ hot in phoenix

Posted on August 12, 2009

And I am not referring to the weather! What a fun family! When Chip and Kay said they wanted to shoot downtown in a more urban setting, I was so excited I could hardly contain myself. Hey, it takes a shoot like this to get me out of bed before 6am!!! We had to shoot early to beat the heat and the crowds (and apparently also the parking fees :).

And come on people, who can’t get enough of adorable little (just-turned-one) Finn’s KILLER eyes and even more killer expressions. He was working it… making mom and dad very proud. And then there was Kay and baby-boy-belly-bump…. wowza! I love Chip and Kay’s style, look and the way they were so comfortable in front of the camera (a photographer’s dream). I commented that they really had a great serious look…. to which they both started laughing hysterically. Love that!!

Guys, it was a blast working together this morning! Can’t wait to meet baby boy someday and work it some more! My camera seems to love you guys! :)
